Cheapest case?

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Frankencase. Take the system case, screen case, and controller and mutate them together (I think Triton has the most experience with frankencasing).

Other than that... Although I guess that would be good, I was planning on selling the original case

Don't make a case, just hot glue everything together. Then you can buy a lot of sliced bread from the money you saved! Anyone with Ben's book should get my joke, I hope

Plexiglass + Sheetmetal Strip works best. Take to plexiglass sheets and seperate them with sheetmetal.

Code: Select all

Project box. Cheap, efficient, and professional. The only potential problem is it's a bit.....boxy for some people's taste  . Other than that, I'd say do a franken or case mod, if you keep the case. The styrene/bent aluminum works ok too.

I think I'll do a project box, 'specially since I'm not keeping the case

or you could get a free sample of cases from several enclosures companies, I am currently using a polycase AG series for my porta-geni (codename No. 1)

Buy one of those "wine-in-a-box" cartons and use that.

1) Slap your friend across the face for buying an ipod. They're made to fail after a year or two, regardless of how well you care for them.
2) Slap him again.
3) Go buy him a Creative Zen or something.

hell just coat the project in hot glue and cover it with duct tape

think about it (It would be nearly bullet proof)
