T.I. voltage stepping regulators

Post by dman762000 » Sun May 14, 2006 3:21 pm

I have some TI voltage stepping regulators that I wanted to use to lower the voltage from a 9.6V flexpack down to 6V solid to power my screen and system for my porta genny (code name ALPHA) and I was wondering if anyone knew of any wiring diagrams or schematics that illustrated how to hook them up or could tell me how to use them

What kind of regulators are they? I assume they're stepdown regulators, yes?
You need to tell what model number/etc they are. It shouldn't be too hard to look at the datasheet and find a prototype schematic.

you have ordered yourself tiny surface mount chips that require you to make a PCB and get a few external components connected to it. its doable if you take your time. the circuit diagram is on page 7 of the datasheet. it needs 6 resistors, 3 capacitors and an inductor.

theres no other ciruit diagrams or knowlege about this chip in the forums, as far as i know you are the first one to ever order any.

good luck.

Crap on a cracker! I thought those were like the step-ups I have. They are the PT5041a - PT5049a step up regulators and they are a complete unit is there any way I can use them?

not if you want 6v. but TI has preassembled modules that do what you want. use the search function. look at the picture in the datasheet to see what it is.
