Hard question

Ok, here it is (It's math)
A guys asking his classs if they wanted a pizza Party. There are 2 plans to determane if they get a party. Which plan should the students choose:
Plan A:
If the Sum is even, there will be a pizza party. If the sum is odd, there will not be a Pizza party.
Plan B:
If the product is even, there will be a pizza party. If the product is odd, there will not be a pizza party.
I think it's Plan B, but how do you figure this out!? My parents don't know, and my friends have no idea either!

I think this might be an algebra elimination question, I'll tell you the answer in (possibly) several min. We just learned it this year
edit: If it isn't elimination/anything I know, I can't tell you . But I'm not sure...

is this a school question? If so, what are you learning currently?
edit: x=# y=other #, z=pizza party, a =no pizza party... so plan A) x+y=z or x+y=a
plan B) xy=z or xy=a

It's plan B.
if you do plan B then you have a 3/4 chance you'll get a party:
odd x even = even
even x odd = even
even x even = even
od x odd = odd

ya, B is better... find a pattern. example...
A) 1+1=2
1+2=3, 1+3=4 etc...
2+1=3,2+2=4
Therefore you have 1/2 chance.
plan B)
1*1=1
1*2=2
so 1/2 chance there BUT...
every odd number =1/2 chance odd, 1/2 chance even (do the math, you'll find out I'm correct)
And...
every even # *any number =even
therefore the chance is 1/1 or 1
so (1+1/2)/2 (a.k.a the mean) is .75
Summary:
plan A gives 1/2 chance of pizza party
plan B gives 3/4 chance of pizza party
And unless someone is allergic to pizza or very obeise, plan B is the better one .

You must have misread the question or maybe it's a typo because this problem usually involves a pair of numbered cubes (AKA six sided dice).

I presume it's asking what the better chance out of both is.
If the Sum is even, there will be a pizza party. If the sum is odd, there will not be a Pizza party.
One approach:
12 votes yes
8 vote no
20 vote
13 vote yes
6 vote no
19 vote
2nd approach:
20 classmates :: even, party time!
23 classmates :: odd, no party
Plan A:
50% chance yes.
50% chance no.
Plan B:
75% chance yes.
25% chance no.
Take of it as you will, Plan B is better.
