Radio Shack has a simular pack with a higher capacity. I've seen an RC battery pack that had LEDs for status, but I can't recall the model, or who made it.

If you have proper access, I suggest eBay or other bidding sights, they're fairly common so they're not bid on much... Hence, they sell for cheap 8) !

i was going to design one once, but i never got around to it... TI makes a chip called the BQ2012, if you can solder surface-mount, pick up a few and try it yourself. the circuit is pretty simple.
