If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PSone Screen - Other Uses?
Post
by Robbie Nekoda » Mon Feb 20, 2006 1:28 pm
Not to boast, but I just picked up a screen for exactly TEN big ones.
So I was wondering: We can obviously rig up these PSone screens for portable systems, but would it be possible to rig them up for other uses? How about converting the AV port to a Scart slot and using it as a multifunctional portabl TV?

Why not just solder in some composite-in wires.

You can RGB mod it, and composite slot mod it, so anything is possible.

I'd like to ideally mod it to take Scart connections. How would I set about doing this? (My HVC book's on order

I bought my PSONE Screen to make a digital picture frame out of it. For under $20 you can get this Sandisk unit that accepts like 7 or 8 types of media cards and comes with a remote. Then you'd put the video out on that to the video in on the PSONE screen. Mount it all in a picture frame.
You could then store pictures and have them play in a slide show or you can control it with a remote.

I have a GREAT hack for these babies. If you want to have a pimped out car, buy 4 of these and throw them on the back of the seats of a van (or 2, if it's just a car). That would be.... Phh-hat.
