As you all know (or SHOULD know), the MMORPG Earth and Beyond was taken offline by EA some time ago. After years without the game, a few fans including myself have come to realize that absolutely nothing can replace our beloved EnB (no, EVE does not even compare, so don't say anything about that).
You can learn more about the project at http://www.enbemulator.com/forum/index.php
Anyway, the good developers there have run into a slight problem: finding the decryption key so that packet logs can be read and understood. These logs are vital to understanding just exactly What the EnB Client was saying to the Server, and vice versa. Those logs are protected by 512bit encryption.
Currently, the people at that site have been relying on factoring using Elliptic Curve Method to find the key, but, quite frankly, it could take decades without a substantial amount of computing power. If you'd like to help us using this method, go to http://www.alpertron.com.ar/ECM.HTM Enter this number into the first box "10385578014804950221065190195736491193847541479389728420426514083771326945639729736695791225573893793119489336012297845146104637691941242485732839277543427" press enter, wait a few moments, then enter a random number between 0 and 340000 in the text box next to the "New Curve" button, and then click the "New Curve" bottun. Then leave that window open and the computer running overnight or any other time you don't use it. If it is still computing curves after you wake up (the "mod mult" and "step" values are still changing) then do nothing or close it. If it has stopped working, copy all the text in the second big grey text box and send it to me in a PM.
If you have any idea how we can find this encryption key faster, please say so! I know this topic may be a little borderline with forum policy, but we're desparate!!!
Well, I'm done ranting now...any comments?
Help us factor huge numbers!
