Well, they did do quite a nice job with that Ford Capri which he called a Ford Crappy before "pimping" it...
I really liked that makeover except for the "bling-bling"... damn, all those fake crystals on the inside of that car? And that basketball scoreboard and a friggin' X-Box in the trunk... If that car was mine I'd pull off all the crystals, rip out the X-Box, remove the TV from the trunk, remove the scoreboard and place a good backseat in again
Anyways, the outside was a nice job, it looked like a friggin' trash car...

What really gets me is the "Wally World Pimpin'" cars I see a lot of around here. Basically kids "pimp owt" their junkers with spray paint, duct tape, and parts from Wal*Mart. Here's an all too common example:
1993 Honda Civic
aftermarket taillights
miscellaneous body modifications such as low spoilers, body kits and hood scoops, held on with tape (usually 3M sticky tape, sometimes duct tape)
wobbly aftermarket stereo (installed it themselves, possibly stolen)
loud anoying woofers in the trunk (mounted in a cardboard box)
rust galore, some covered with either tape or Bondo
worn out suspension, drivetrain, spark plugs
burns oil
muffler removed and replaced with pipe (replaced on inspection day)
120k miles

Why did Tim Westwood go into the fishing tackle supply shop?philly wrote:Ah man, pimp my ride UK is so poor! It's hosted by Tim Westwood- the biggest WIGGA in the world, and the autoshop guys are total losers! Seriously try and find it- might be on bittorrent or something, its entertainment for all the wrong reasons...
For reel!
What size fishing reel did Tim Westwood ask for?
Massive!
What does Tim Westwood recommend if your fishing rod is too short?
Largin' it!
Yeah, Gimp my ride UK really sucks! What gets me is the autoshop guys are really trying to be American like the West Coast Custom guys and it just sounds lame with a UK accent.
"Oh wow! We're going like, totally rad on this Fiat....!"
I'd love to hear them try and just be NORMAL! Now if they got a bunch of Geordies to do the work, that would be entertaining!
"Reet, we're ganna make ya car look deed flash! Haway man, lets gan rip the f**ker to bits and then we can aal gan to the pub!"
I've often found if people spend less time worrying about what someone the other side of the world has posted on an internet forum and more time getting laid, they'll be a lot less tense.

and what the hell is wrong with that? those specs can be taken in many difrent ways you seem to think that those parts could be of low quality and poor condition. body kits are expensave and people get ripped off all the time on paint jobs so thats not entirly there fault if they have to use duct tape and exposed bondo for a wile. stereos are expensave and there is nothing wrong with having loud subwoofers in the trunk thats where they are suposed to be.bicostp wrote:What really gets me is the "Wally World Pimpin'" cars I see a lot of around here. any ways my car will have a few related trates like loud subwoofers an after market stario and ofcousre a mac mini in the dash, any body mods how ever will be to lose those nasty stock dodge headlights and recede the front bumper an inch. cut the back springs for a much better stance, and before i can do any thing gut the interior and put a new top on it.

Nothing's wrong with it when it's done properly. However most of the ones I see look like they threw a car, some tape and some cardboard into a blender and that's what the result turned out to be. And in my area people aren't very careful drivers, so a lot of them end up cracked, warped, or with the back of the car all caved in.cennar wrote:and what the hell is wrong with that? those specs can be taken in many difrent ways you seem to think that those parts could be of low quality and poor condition. body kits are expensave and people get ripped off all the time on paint jobs so thats not entirly there fault if they have to use duct tape and exposed bondo for a wile. stereos are expensave and there is nothing wrong with having loud subwoofers in the trunk thats where they are suposed to be.

"Customising" a car very badly seems to be quite normal here in England.
Audi A3 anyone:
Saw this Ford Escort on Ebay a while back. The owner said "real head turner". I think he meant "stomach" rather than head:
The most customised car in the UK is the Vauxhall Corsa (I think they're badged as Chevys in the US):
What's with the door mirror:
