yes. for some games it makes it go faster, for some it makes no difference, and for some it makes it a bit smoother. the older ones can't be way overclocked though, just a little. you'll need to add a little fan if you OC it. you can even under clock it to 62.5mhz to save battery power
. for some games (like zelda) it makes no difference in the gameplay and it can be run underclocked just fine but for some like goldeneye it slows it down.
EDIT: the dimensions for the board (plugs not included) is <b>6.25" x 5"</b> (someone should add that to POD)

In This topic: http://benheck.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=8074&start=0I wrote:this is for the whole cutting down boards and such:
Older ones like the atari are easy. all of the re-connections are fairly simple and all you have to do is follow their traces. But then take the SNES for example: If Im not mistaken, It has layers? Anyway, you cant really see any of the traces of it, and there isint really any good place to cut. So with newer systems, you could only cut off a tiny bit, that portion being Most of the grounding strip around the edges ( If the system even has one.)
Lets take this N64. Im looking at a NUS-001 that I shorted out (made a short circuit while it was on) and it magically started working like a week later. But thats not the point. Assuming you have all of these removed (controller ports, video plug, and power pak plug) your board will be 6.25 Inches long.(15.8 cm) long and about 5 in. tall or about 12.6 cm.
Now you cut off a portion of the metal grounding, making shure you didnt cut any traces. New measurements? About 5 1/2" wide, or about 13.9cm and for the height it would be the same as before, nothing to cut.
So as you can see, you can kinda cut down boards, but nothing too catastrophic there. (i was only able to get the dreamcast down No greater than .5")
