DPDT Switch Help

Post by Neo_Weapon »

Hello everyone again!! I'm back to portabilization after a semester of freshman college. I dug up my Radica/Hip Gear Screen and figured what I have done and what I need to do.

I need help figuring out how to hook up the DPDT switch so that it powers my HIP Gear Screen and the Radica with one flip of the switch. This is what I have so far....

However, I do not know how to hook up the batteries to the 7805 5VDC voltage regulator. How am I suppose to get a positive and a negative out after the batteries go through the 5V regulator since there are only three things on the regulator (Input, GND, Output). Any help is appreciated.
Help me help you.

ground = the negative charge you're talking about I think. I've never worked with the Hipgear before but I highly doubt it requires a -5v supply. You actually don't need an DPDT switch to turn the whole thing on at once. This can all be done with an SPST if you wire all the positive charges together and just switch between grounds. Here, I drew an image up for you:

I would also recommend getting rid of the 7805 altogether. It probably won't even work off a 6v supply and you should be able to power the radica and hipgear fine without it (just using 6v).

I used a standard 7805 with a 6V input for my NESp and it works fine. I don't understand why... But as long as it outputs 5V thats fine with me.
