A few 'parting words' if you will

Post by demonofaj »

Well, last wee bit o help before I finish up el PSONE of mine. So...I've noticed that for the disc to spin, some button on the mobo needs to be pressed to keep it going. I put on the lid (unscrewed) with a taken off disc lid, and it doesn't spin. So does the lid need to be closed for the thing to keep on spinning. Atka, can you help. :P

there should be a little button that the lid pushes when it closes. maybe your lid is meesed up or needs to be screwed to push hard enough because it's not on all the way

If I remember correctly, it's a PBNO, so tying the pins together should allow for open spinning.

Can I solder the two pins together which the switch gives out, and permanently connect it with wire.

yes, but make sure you don't turn it on without a CD with the lid open

 So it's true, Sony is the true W.M.D.. My disc lid won't click, close, but it's closed nonetheless. :D

Its easier just to put some hot glue on the thing the lid presses down on, to keep it down. tape works too, but not as well

I shortened my wire by splicing it and reconnecting color coded wires, like green to green and such. However, the wire is like '100 in one' whereas one side is say 75 the other 51. Is their a warning level for the siganl on the wires to go. :? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP! :D

Bumpidity, in the disc drives 'laser transperency cable' the place where it plugs into the mobo, I find two weird sheets of paper in the port. Are they important? If so do I need to put it back in when I put the ribbon cable in again? Thanks. :D

CRAP, a triple post. Anyways, I opened the mobo off the case, but the switch has TWO rows of pins. Which ones should I connect. If you say bottom, to me bottom means the one twoard the controller ports.
