ps2portable works

Post by Mr. Hawkins » Sat Nov 12, 2005 7:58 pm

I finally finished my (somewhat)portable PS2. I used the slim version and the same battery as ben, however had to get a second battery for the screen like segasonicfan. The reason i say it is somewhat portable is because the system is not permanently attached to the screen or batteries. That way I can take the system out and play it on my tv at home. It was also just easier making it this way. Hope to have pictures posted soon.

I got mine down to one battery :) I used a highly coupled/regulated 7808 to pull the power from a custom 12v li-ion pack I built because the PS2 runs off up to 16v.

Sorry about the time between posts(School has been crazy  ,but its out now :D ) Anyway, I will be able to post pictures sometime soon after Christmas(we are getting a new digital camera :D ) Also, got a new screen for the thing because my LED modded screen just wasn't cutting it. Thats about it, but I'm planning on a new design(However, its gonna take FOREVER to do, so I may just boot it).

I might add the controls into the unit eventually, but it will be awile(thats the new design that I mentioned earlier). Anyway, right now i'm using a wireless controller.

Nice! The wireless controller is actually not a bad idea.

Yea, I had to abandon built in controls because I kept frying the ones i was working on  . After I had destroyed 3 I decided to just go with the wireless controller(broken controllers=money down the drain).
