It's the MPSOneP!

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

It's the MPSOneP!

Post by totokan »

No, not mobile PSOne portable, but modular PSOne portable! Its simplistic by nature, so I might put up a how-to if it works. Basically, I need help with a few things:
A) How big is a PSOne (systemwise)?
B) EDIT: thanks! It's been answered!
C) EDIT: thanks! It's been answered!

The design incorporates a slide on front, which might make it impossible to switch games without removing it. The back is the psone screen, with a special locking mechinism that connects it to the front. The front contains controller and battery. Anything i'm missing?

Now, I have two design ideas. Which one do you guys think is better?
1) stated above
2)the controller goes on the sides, with the battery underneath. On top is the screen, and the console slides in the middle. this makes it really impossible to switch discs, but the unit itself would be easier to use.

Here's another question: Are ps2 controllers compatible with PSOne? (I have a ps2 one around here somewhere...)

Yes they are, but trust me you don't want to waste a PS2 controller ($25 used) when you can get a PSone controller ($3 used with analog). The traces are much easier on the PSone, but if its still difficult you won't be too worried when you go through a couple.

from wikipedia:
A module is a self-contained component of a system, which has a well-defined interface to the other components; something is modular if it is constructed so as to facilitate easy assembly, flexible arrangement, and/or repair of the components.
