Wasn't there also a Hugo line? I seem to remember playing Hugo I and Hugo II.

I recently aquired an old, old incrediby old Toshiba Sattelite lappy. (24 MB RAM, 1 gb HD, Win95 before IE...)

It's going to replace my old Zenith 8086 lappy for DOS gaming because it has a color screen and it works. However, the screen isn't TFT, so it's all muddy and weird-looking and it gets terrible motion blur. Not bad for IF games! :D

Oh and look up the text-based adventure game system ZZT. <a href="http://www.autofish.net/creation/video_ ... ml">Here's a site with ZZT, Super ZZT, and enough utilities and adventure game worlds to keep you occupied for a few <s>hours days weeks</s> MONTHS!</a>

Yes text adventure games were mostly made by Infocom back in the 1980's. They consisted entirely of text.

I actually programmed a few of them on my Atari 800... if I had a working disk drive I could bring them back via emulation.... sigh!

Yeah I used to play hugo when I was little. There are three of them and they would drive me crazy. But now that I am older they can be fun but slightly unreasonable at times. It is awkward how you have to type and say almost exactly the right thing to get him to do what ever.

I made a small text game in QBASIC for a school project (English class, made up some alternatives for what could have been done in a book we read) Got an A+ :D (then again, the teacher was pretty easy :P )
