Now to answer all the questions:
@shmagoogin77: I cut the controller apart at the shoulder assemblies, and bondo'ed them on the back. You may remember the picture I had of the back before with the control board hanging out the back. I put the shoulders there to cover up the hole, and put the other one on the other side (for symmetry, and function).
And to everyone asking about the disc:
It looks like it would mess up the disc, but if you look closely at the opening picture you can see how some of the wires go under, and around the disc reader. It took some practice, but know I know exactly how to close it so that the wires don't interfere with the disc drive. Also, you can compare the inside pic wires to the shape of the disc reader, and notice that it makes pretty much the outline of the reader. It really is crammed in there though.
And, for anyone thinking about utilizing the disc lid. It doesn't work! There is barely enough clearance for a couple of wires! I was going to put the start select, and analog buttons there, but it didn't work. You could build it up then hollow it out. That would be the only way to use that space.
