another screen question....

Post by d33pthawte » Wed Nov 09, 2005 8:30 am

is anyone out there familiar with this newer kids video player called the juicebox? the screen is not a bad size at all, and at my local kmart,(where evidently they've been a huge flop), they are on clearance for 20 bucks. however, niether the packaging, nor the website give any indication whether or not it's an lcd screen or not-just says "color display" or some such. so does anyone have any idea about these things :?:

They're crap. can't be sued. A Hip Gear screen or a PSOne screen blows it away even if you could get it to work. (and they cost about the same $)

thanks for the heads up-is the hipgear one smaller than the psone screen? i'm looking to make a NOAC portable and want a smaller screen, so i can keep the overall size down. thanks again.

The Hip Screen is 2.6" dia., the PSone is 5".

Now before you come back and think its impossible to use the Hip Screen, it doesnt need 12v (like the DC input says), you by pass the 7808 on the control board to have it run on 7.2v. Also be sure to do a search in the Screens forum for additional info on the Hip Screen.

Mine runs off 6V or higher. Other people say they have gotten theirs to work on 4.8V though. When I tried this the screen was all dark and the backlight was barely on.
