Sorted it. DC power supply has its output voltage incorrectly labelled.
Some more testing has shown that the keyboard and touchpad are working perfectly, though the fire buttons designated as mouse 1 + 2 are a little iffy; I my have to redo them.
D-pad and fire buttons not yet connected up.

Nice work. It's looking a lot like something Ben would make, the nice game controls, and very cool case. The details and log of your work is very professional too. Overall great job. It's looking great!

Yep, Minimig. You can build one yourself if you can solder smd stuff - all the circuit layouts and flash code is freely available.
Normal price for a pre-built and tested setup is around £130, about $200.
