What's up with the name then?

Most portables cost a bit more than $100 to make. A NOAC portable would be pretty cheap.

I would suggest (not that I've made anyhting yet) a NOAC or SNES to start off with.

But the thread creators name is ganonbanned, and doesn't "ganon" remind you of "gannon"?

My apologies for jumping to conclusions. Fish are rather fishy.

Noac's are on ebay. sometimes not in the nintendo section though. Thre are a couple sites that sell them too, for around $30 US. I don't have a link or a site name in memory though.

Mmm fish yum yum!

People got suspicious because one of our admins, gannon, handles almost all the banning, and we sometimes refer to it as a "gannon-ban" (minus the boldface.)

If you aren't familiar with soldering, find something like an old phone or an old modem or PCI card you never want to use again and practice soldering on it. Believe me the practice is worth it!
Check out www.portablesofdoom.org , our kickarse reference site, for some tutorials and pinouts and lots of other information.
Read around the forums for info.

If you want to make an NESp, be it from a real NES or one of the pirate things, it will cost at least $100 USD to make a basic one, because you're paying probably $30 for a screen, $30 for a decent battery, and of course you need parts, tools, supplies like solder and case-making stuff... it adds up.

Phish? They're a cool band.

Also, good luck on whatever portable route you decide to take.
