Something like only 20%-30% of the Japan shipment sold in the first few days. Compared to 100% of the US shipment in the first few hours.
Wow.
Japan has the same TV standard we do (NTSC) but I wonder if there's regional lockout inside the consoles. They'd do well to bring all the unsolds to the States!

Stupid Microsoft, thinking Asians (who are generally smart, compared to Americans, who are generally dumb) would fall into their pit.

I was thinking something like that too.
Japan's already got all sorts of crazy electronics and robots that can play games FOR them. Why would they need more?
(Besides, they probably transformed their vintage playstation into a cool handheld! Why would they need a new system when they can recycle their old one?)

Hey, sup?
Nope its Japan is the only place that doesnt accept the Xbox/360. And smart? Sony released only 500,000 PS2 to the U.S. for the first release, because that figure was based off the Japanese release.soundwave wrote:Stupid Microsoft, thinking Asians (who are generally smart, compared to Americans, who are generally dumb) would fall into their pit.
As for region locks, if its hardware based then all you have to do is change a jumper on the motherboard (or make one).
And if you want a 360, wait til the 18th. Best Buy kept some back for that date so they can sell them during the craze.

Well... it kind of is. If you look at 3.1, 95, 98, ME, 2000 and then XP, yeah XP is the most secure Windows. Problem is that being the most secure Windows OS doesnt mean much in the big picture.timmeh87 wrote:they also called XP "the most secure windows operating system ever".
The Copy Protection? If its anything like the CD buring software that came with XP it's crap, hell most software from Microsoft is crap.

I heard that at one of the biggest stores in tokyo (cant remember which one), that advertised the heck out of the 360, there were only eight people waiting in line at the door at the release.
