Would this be hard to make?

Hi guys, this isnt' a video game portable, but rather a silly old style phone handle that you plug into a cell phone.

I thought that this might make an interesting Xmas gift for someone, but don't really want to pay $75. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Jeff S.

I don't like it. If you have a cell phone...why not jsut talk on the cellphone.

Although it would look extremely awesome to see somebody talking on a corded phone otuside a movie theatre.
Hey, sup?

Well I'm sure if you got an old phone handle that works...Yeah I think you could do it. But going out and doing it is beyond me.

Eventually I want to try and make a cell modem from a cell phone. Can't you just find the sound input/output points on the modem and tie them into the phone's speaker and mic points?

Screw all that. If you wan't to raise eyebrows, you cut the handset off a pay phone, and walk around speaking to Linus Torvalds on this phone with the wire hanging in the air next to you.

Wow, that's simple! If you want to do it, just rip apart and old phone and hook the mic to one ring of the jack and speaker to the other!

No a cell phone has greater bandwidth, its not enough to give you broadband speeds but its fast. Also if you where to use it, be quick and dont do it often. As I said a cell phone has greater bandwidth then a typical landline but using it for internet does suck bandwidth and your carrier will not be pleased to find out you're doing that. A journalist who was interviewed about it said that had happened to others so he only uses it to quickly email his aricles to his publisher.

You might be able to get a contract from your carrier that aloes you to use the phone for internet, but dont expect it to be cheap.
