I think he means emulating other systems with a real sega cd...

I'm pretty sure that's what he means too. I don't think there's much of a chance to emulate the NES on a Genesis.

Yea, thats what I ment. I know that Sega CD can play CD+G (Kariokie cd's). CD+G = CD+Grafics.

I doubt it. The Sega CD has about as much cpu power as the Genesis, which was ~7mH. You could try finding a way to over clock the Sega CD to 14mH but still thats not much. Also the system had a 1x speed drive, making loading either a trial of patients or pure tourture.

ya, it wouldn't be worth it.
Though you could try to find a way to make genesis games play from the CD instead of the cart.

That was the whole idea behind the Sega CD. The only real advantage it has is more ram and because of the increased size of the media it aloues for full motion video to be played.

If you want try and make a SMS emulator on CD, it would be much more worth it as you can then condence the SMS library down to only a few discs.

Well as they have a conveter to aloue SMS games to be played on the genesis, I'd say reverse engineer the software they use to emulate the system. Throw in a menu for selecting games and it should be fine.

I personally would love to help with the programming but as I know absolutly squat I cant.

Here's a link I found for Genesis development:
http://home.hiwaay.net/~eubanks/
It looks like there's a cross compiled GCC for it, but if you honestly want to make an emu that has a chance of performing well, you'll need to learn 68k assembler.

Here's another page with a whole bunch of links:
