Some of the newer Telus cell phones can allow you to run the internet on your laptop, and about 2 or 3 can actuly play TV shows like Techtv and the weather network.

Someday I want to make a cellular modem out of an old cell phone and a 56k USB modem, so I can surf the web on my laptop during car trips and such. (Of course the airtime would be a killer, but I think there's always unlimited night and weekend minutes.)

Because what is a modem but a device that sends computer signals as audio signals over a telephone system? I don't see why it wouldn't work, does anyone else?

Nice Idea Bicostp, in my pound shop I saw a complete Hands Free Telephone, I was going to get one, but for that simple fact it actually connects to a phone box (hence, not a Mobile), I'm not gonig too, anyway of making a phone that connects to a phone box, to like a mobile?
