Pictures of the redesigned PS2!!!

I have to say I'm dissappointed. It looks like the just squashed the layout in CAD and said "Ok, now fit the guts in"

The not-centered DVD drive is a minus as well. Although note the built-in LAN and PSone-style power jack. And I bet it's a flip top lid, too.

What do you all think as for this thing's portable prospects? Sound off!

yeah, it looks bad, but it looks like it already has a slimmed down dvd drive, and that's a plus, also, it seems like the heatsink's size has decreased quite a bit.
Also, remember that the bottom recessed area probably contains the psu and the hdd rack like the ps2, so the console itself is pretty thin.

Oh how I wish they would re-position the dvd drive though

wait, I was just checking out some pictures, and I think I saw the eject switch on the front of it..I guess that doesn't remove the possibility of it being a flip-top loader though.

I think its alright but they should have made it a dofferent color like silver or some thing. Now i like sony and all but they always come out with stuff thats smaller and better after you have the original i mean its kind of annoying. But i like the design.

Well reading one (of the many) articals posted it mentioned that the PStwo will be released Novermber, it gave a specific date but I cant remember the number. It also suprised me that their releasing them in Europe, Japan and US at the same time, or very close together.

Thanks a lot!! that site has pics of the mobo and everything so I can start designing a new ps2p!! :D

Oh yeah, and I love the fact that they're putting a blue-laser dvd drive in it, but that might increase the power usage :(

Well as Gannon is getting confused I think we need to consolide the 2 or 3 topics that are going and turn them into just 1.

lol, no, I just went to comment and clicked on the wrong topic :p
Also, I wish I could just move all the posts to the other thread, that way there'd only be one, but I can't...:(

Why not just close th others with a link to this one or the two in the 128bit fourm. That way I (like other) dont have to read the same topic two, three times in two fourms.
