This whole time when I've been working on projects I've been usingspeaker wire or a bit of cut and separated IDE ribbon cable. The problem with that is it is many wire threads to make one normal sized wire, aqnd the threads may stray and ouch another pin, especially with the stiff speaker wire. I've decided that wiring would be a lot easier if I bought some spool of solid wire instead. So I went to Radio Shack and got this. The results? It's great! the wire holds in nice and strong (though a lot of that has to do with how it was soldered) and it's virtually impossible to have it go across to another pin on a ghip or another component nearby. If you're not using solid wire and are having problems soldering the wire, I'd highly recommend trying this stuff out. It's sooo much better. Just thought I'd let you know.
