I have ajig-saw and a router, and have never had the plastic melt. You have to buy a bit to cut the plastic (for a router), most don't come with the one you need. It only melts and gums up if you cut on a too high of a speed.

and my point on saying that the book will have directions....Well, it will have both cnc and building one without it.

I said router table. That means the router is stationary, and you move the material being cut.

Yeah using a router table to cut out a case? If its like Ben's then you may have a hard time, thats why a jig overlaying the piece would be better.
