Ps2 parental codes

Today for the first time I went to play american pie 2 on my ps2 and the parental code screen came up I know my parents didn't set a code so it must have been on the ps2 when my aunt gave it to me. Do you guys know how to reset it I have tried 7444 4447 and 0000 none of these are working I cant find the maual and when I went to sony.com to get it It would never download right anyone know how to reset the code its model is scph50001 Thanks

I don't know for sure that the ps2 has a cmos battery, but I'm guessing it does. You could pull it and count to 10. If the ps2 doesn't have this battery, unplugging it may work too.
but 0000 didn't work? mine periodically came up with warnings on movies, but it wasn't hard to get through. Have you tried the good old '1234'?

I played DVDs on my PS2 before we got a dedicated DVD player. The only problem I had with it was the lack of VCD support. (I tape shows on my comp with a TV tuner, and I save the shows I really want to watch on the TV onto VCDs because I don't have a DVD burner. Not to mention the price of blank DVDs vs blank CDs. But I digress.... back to the topic on hand. )
