Hi,
Just wondering if its ok to use electrical tape on the underside of my SNES board to make sure that parts of the screen and mobo don't touch. I don't want the tape bridging some connections or something like that.
Thanks
Is it ok to use electrical tape?

Electrical tape is designed to insulate, not conduct. It's OK to use.

Yeah, you can use that, or use a piece of paper and tape it down (thus using a few small pieces of tape vs. several long strips). Other people have used duct tape (i wouldnt recommend it, it falls apart and gets pretty nasty quickly).

Re: Is it ok to use electrical tape?
Personally, I would not use it as a main insulating technique. Also, after about a week the glue / adhesive on the tape really sticks down onto the PCB and can rip up contacts etc...
What I would do, is get a A3 or A4 binder and cut off the plastic. Cut holes for capacitors, and place it on the board. To hold it in place, use hot glue placed on the ground points.

I wouldn't use eletric tape but I would use eather mounting tape or Scotch tape to secure it down.
