HOW > Metal Spot Welding?

Post by Haunted360 » Sat Jul 02, 2011 3:14 am

Hi. I need to weld metal to metal. I could use bondo, but it is not a strong idea unlike welding.

I need to be able to weld a rod through a hole and fuse it...

I have seen people make there own using a microwave transformer.

I tried myself by just using a camera flash and soldered to the cathode and anode - but it was not powerful enough.

And let me tell you, that a 250 volt half charged capacitor shock is not a nice feeling 8)

Anyway, I need to fuse the metal together...

Any ideas?

You could try JB Weld.

I guess that's my only option then.

Thanks.

What about this one?
http://www.harborfreight.com/spot-weld-gun-98759.html

Because I need to basically make now a box...

I mean, Bondo / JB weld will work, but it is not as strong as a metal-to-metal weld.

You still need the Arc Welder Box. Find a local hackerspace. They usually have welders.
