something that numbs everything

I suffer from an ingrown toenail on both feet; both big toes have an ingrown toenail in which the nails of both toes fold into my toe-skin (or whatever) on the left & right sides respectively (the left big toe: folds into its left side; the right big toe: folds into its right side); I plan on getting a permanent fix for it someday, but is there a product like novocaine or whatever surgeons or therapists (or the correct term that im apparently forgetting to put here) use to numb the afflicted area before they do what they do that I can get?

Orajel works the same as novocaine(or possibly is novocaine), but may get expensive for areas that large. Try Aspercreme and see how much that helps, I know it works great for both muscle pain and joint pain.
