At least Ford's doing something about it. The 2012 "world" Focus is much nicer than the 2008-2011 NA ones (reminds me of the step from last-gen Escort to first-gen NA Focus), and rumor has it they're making a smaller, lighter, more nimble Mustang for 2014 with IRS and maybe a 2.5L EcoBoost pushing over 300 horsepower available, on top of the existing 3.5L EB and the usual menagerie of naturally aspirated V8s. (The existing 2L Ecoboost is rated for 275... Hopefully ending up in a Focus RS near you?) As long as we don't wind up with another Mustang II we should be in good shape. (Which we shouldn't, since they actually know how to get more than 120 horsepower out of a 5 liter V8 nowadays...)Triton wrote:they speak the truth, US domestic car makers almost universally have better cars for sale EVERYWHERE THAT ISNT AMERICA
GM seems to think "world car" means "import a Daewoo, scrape the jockstrap emblem off, and slap a bowtie on in its place".
Chrysler... I just don't know. Probably what happened was the barrel of AMC's good ideas ran dry and they regressed to their old 1980s habits.
