Today, another friend gave me a free psp 1001 with a shattered lcd. I will combine the 2 to make a working unit.

Also, today a kid on my bus randomly offered me his pokemon blue for $5. So I bought it.
Dealextreme has PSP LCD screens for all models of PSP for like $20.. just think for $20 or $25 (I say $25 because you said a thumb nub was broken - Dealextreme has those too) you could have TWO working PSPs.

Well if you end up with partially completed PSPs or one that you don't feel like fixing I'd be willing to buy it off you sometime if you're interested. Put it up in the Trading Post if you ever do, I'll be sure to shoot you a PM.

3 broken gamecubes for $10 at a pawn shop.

Took em all home, and each one was fine. One was missing a lazer, so I replaced it.

wow that's a pretty good deal, SS. Don't you just love people who are too lazy or stupid to fix simple problems with their stuff?

I got an off-brand N64 controller for free because it was broken. Unfortunately it is a lot more broken than I thought it was.

Found an electronic learning toy with 130 different schematics and instructions at Goodwill for $3. I haven't decided whether I'll tear it apart for pieces, or leave it intact. Thus far, it's been fun to just play with as it is. It even still had all the tinned wires of various lengths with it.

I saw one of those at Saver's the other day... I thought about buying it, but I have no place for it.

However, while I was there, I bought a GameBoy color with seven games, including "Tetris" and "Super Mario Land," and a soft case, for $20. I knew it had four games, but when I brought it home and looked inside the case, I found three more! I actually ended up trading five of them in at Game Force because they sucked (basically all of them except for "Tetris" and "Super Mario Land"), but I got a beautiful copy of "Warhawk" for the PS1 out of them.

I got ripped off at the local thrift store on a famiclone. It's a red controller thingy with built in light gun. I thought it was 6.99 for the main unit and the extra controller, but it turned out to be 6.99 each. I'll post pics and details later.

wow. the game.com.

are you going to modify it to make it remotely cool?

Are the games as bad as everybody says they are?
