GARAGESALES 2009!
Moderator:Moderators
Last Saturday, I got a set of 2 generic fog lights for $5 from a thrift store. Gonna put them on the back of my truck to give me on-demand, super reverse lights. The brake lights provide more light than the stock reverse lights.
Also found a bucket of golf balls for $15. My friend had $14, and I has $1 left after getting the lights, so we both pitched in and got them. Got home, counted them, we got about 260 golf balls (about 5.7 cents a piece). My dollar got me 17 of them. We plan on making an automatic golf ball cannon. Plenty of single shot ones have been made, but I've yet to see an auto or semi-auto one.

I have one of those, it's a light brown version, with a switch to choose normal and telephoto lens. I used it to take lots of pictures when I was a kid. Not even sure if they still develop 110 film anymore.bicostp wrote: A Kodak Trimlite Instamatic 18 110 film camera, ca 1975-79.

You could always develop it yourself..but then again, you'd also have to find film too...

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-2009!
Went Goodwill Hunting again last Friday (it's fun poking around other peoples' unwanted crap!), and bought myself a clock for my desk. The cheapest one they had was a 99 cent clock/radio. According to the back label, it's from 1986. Someone had obviously worked on it before. I hesitate to say they "fixed" it because there are broken parts, the AM antenna coil is ruined, and there were random bits of masking tape all over. I soldered the speaker back on, fixed the very noisy volume pot using this guide by someone you may know, got the scratches out of the lens with car polish, and washed all the parts with dish soap. Aside from a few nicks and worn spots on the fake woodgrain, it looks like new. I just have to get around to soldering on a new FM antenna wire. (Both circuit boards inside are heavily labeled with what the solder points are for. )
All this so I don't lose track of time playing PC games late at night.

Why, you may ask?
You'll see.
(I <3 GOODWILL. They're a million times better than Salvation Army when it comes to electronics.
1. They don't charge $100 for a ratty old stereo, and
2. They have a power strip bolted right to the front of the shelves and invite you to test everything. )

I got a Walkman WM-F100 for $3 at the thrift store today. Its in near perfect condition, just a small dent by the hold switch.

don't you love it when that happens? People see that you can mod stuff, then they give you jnuk that they don't want anymore because you can make use of it. In a few days, my friend is giving me two playstations (don't know if they are ps1 or psx) because he saw my recased nes and my snes controller to nes adapter.
rest in peace, Ronnie James Dio! \m/
