It looks like it would suck for a shooter. The Dpad and stick can't be used at the same time and the c-buttons are positioned wrong for directional control.

It would be sweet for SSB though!

Got a ginormous 12V power supply at the thrift store. It has a lighter jack and is good to 5.8A. Great for running chargers I guess, I bought it because it was only $5. Good condition and worth like $40 new.

Also got some mini-files for $7 from Liquidation World. They're okay, a step above dollar store junk.

I got some empty game boxes and manuals for free...

I got two Sega Genesis cases (some wrestling games), a Sega CD case and manual for a game I already own ("Double Switch," yay!), a PlayStation case and manual (a baseball game), and a SNES game manual ("Kirby's Super Stars" or something). Found them lying around at one sale and the guy there said to just take them. I'll probably take them down to Game Force on Monday and see if I can get anything for them. Even if I only get a dollar or two, I'll still have made a profit!

I picked up about 4 or 5 7.2V RC battery packs from Radio Shack for $3 each. They're working perfectly for replacing the cells in old GG battery packs, but they aren't powerful enough for a Nomad. I also got 5 GBASP/DS batteries for $3 each, still in the packaging. I found an e-Reader with Ice Climbers loaded on it at Goodwill for $3, too. Here's the real deal, though:

PS2 Phat with all cords and stand
Memory Card
2 black 1st party controllers
1 silver 1st party controller
2 Stormchaser 3rd party controllers
Tomb Raider III (PS)
Namco Museum (PS)
VR Baseball '97 (PS)
Medal of Honor Underground (PS)
X-Wing Collector Series (PC)
GameShark for Splinter Cell (PS2)
N64 console with jumper pack and all cords
2 light grey 1st party controllers, one has slightly loose joystick, other is perfect.
1 transparent purple 1st party controller with excellent joystick
Beetle Adventure Racing
Doom 64
NFL Blitz
SMB 64
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Memory Card

All for free. A guy I know bought a PS3, and his parents bought a Wii, so they wanted to thin out the collection.
This post brought to you by David Duchovny's glorious nipples.

Atari 2600a w/ 44 games,
2 joysticks,
2 rapid fire inline boxes,
paddle controllers,
star raiders touchpad

and the Atari Game Center{for those too young to know, Atari Game Center was a universal Atari system display that looked like a record player w/ a clear plastic lid and black and veneer[wood grain sticker] box}

$4 dollars
the Atari is stamped "Not for sale for promotional use only" S.N. 8444. I think that's the assembly line number, so it's one of the first 10,000?

Wow, lucky you. Everything over here is a ripoff and people charge too much. The going price of an XBOX is $75, for example.

I've paid less than that for 3 of them.

eBay - $42 shipped
eBay - $11 shipped (intermittent disk drive)
Goodwill - $10 (haven't tested)

that is like a super rare item for atari collectors
Sometimes, life isn't fair, but you just have to work around it.

The paddle jitter is probably because of dirty pots. You can replace them, or clean them with rubbing alcohol.

I was going to buy new ones and use these to build a custom driving controller. Everything online says you need a no-stop pot controller to play pole position, but I used the buttons on the paddles in my left and right hands. Left goes left, right goes right. Please tell me people knew this?
