New Xbox 360 Revealed; Shipping Now!

Microsoft has officially revealed a new Xbox 360 (the same one we already saw in that Italian ad) with a 250GB HDD, built-in Wi-Fi, a shiny new coat of glossy black paint, and, insanely enough, it's shipping to retailers right now. Attendees of today's presser got free ones, so you can expect us to be giving away as many as we can, as soon as we can.

Any word on dimensions? Looks a bit smaller. Someone said the power supply is internal, that will be nice. About time they added wifi. As long as it doesn't RROD, I'll probably end up getting one.

Im pretty pissed about this one. these are all features the original 360 should have had from day one, and they are touting them like the greatest thing ever. plus, as someone who just bought a new harddrive and wireless N router, i cant help but feel ripped off (even more so). after all, they can afford to give away a 250gb drive now? what ever happened to the $ per gig thing? plus, somehow, i doubt if they fixed the RRoD. the only positive thing is that its pretty sexy looking.

I highly doubt rrod is going to be a problem anymore, it was really just the xenon unit that had the problem, the falcon fail rate was a lot smaller and it's almost gone on the jasper.

Not to mention this is a whole new unit, with a different motherboard, and according to the pics floating around the internet the cpu and gpu are on one die. They also say this system is going to be very quite, meaning a fan that is not that powerful, further concluding the system must run a lot cooler.

It's an entirely new unit, I doubt that they use x-clamps and that it gets over 150 degrees.

It's like comparing the ps3 and ps3 slim. They're entirely different units.

Dang, it still has an external power brick. :(
I don't think they would release it if it still had as big of a problem with the RROD. It wouldn't be good for their image, starting with a more or less blank slate and the knowledge of what is wrong with the current model and still messing up. I for one don't want to put down $300 for a system that will end up dead in 5 years. I can understand the disc drive laser or the hard drive taking a dump after a few years of use/abuse, but having the core of the system pretty much designed to fail...

That new design is pretty angry looking.

...I think I'm a gonna have to pick one up and see just how much smaller the internals are now :)

I was thinking about getting an Xbox for college this fall. Anybody know the price?
I have nothing clever to say here. Sorry.

You may be able to save 50-100 bucks by buying the current XBox model as retailers clear out their stock...

I think the angle the picture is taken from makes it look a lot smaller than it really is.
