ronnie James dio, Godfather of power metal and the metal horns lost his ongoing fight against stomach cancer today. some of you may not know who he is, or how much of an impact he had on heavy metal, but I think people like metallicaman will understand. Goodbye, Ronnie, for you are now playing music in a better place right along side of Randy Rhodes, Dimebag Darrel, Chuck Schuldiner, and Bon Scott.

Man, I saw him a couple years ago. That's a shame.

Re: Rest in peace, Ronnie James Dio
Whats really weird is that yesterday I kept hearing Holy Diver on the radio. Both the Dio and Killswitch versions. I got out of band practice today and the wife told me. Sucks man. Another metal head passes into legend....

I thought I felt a disturbance in the metal force....so very depressing this news is.

I may not be familiar with his work but I definitely know Holy Diver. May he be at rest and condolences to his family and friends.
I have nothing clever to say here. Sorry.

I was on cinemassacre.com earlier today. James wrote an article paying his respects to Dio.

Just read that Lars Ulrich of Metallica made a letter to Dio as well.

Rock in peace, Ronnie. I wanted to see Heaven and Hell live so bad
Re: Rest in peace, Ronnie James Dio
I'd never heard his music before I heard about this at my youth group on Sunday. But now that I've heard a few of his songs, I know how much he rocked. May he rest in peace.
