Crap, that sucks! ):

*Ease up! Not every post or thread has to be some super technical post about how they revolutionized the N64 power regulator. Small talk like this keeps this, the lounge forum, flowing and fun!

Would you guys think it's safe to assume my Power Supply is faulty if the system wont even turn on to show me the yellow light anymore?

Well, if you get a Yellow light, blinking red light, and 3 beeps, The board needs to be reflowed. Take the Mobo down, clean the Chips and heatsinks, put some arctic Silver on em, Screw em down and bake the board at 275 Degrees for about 10-15 mins.

Worked for me 2 times on 2 different PS3s

I get the error sometimes just from having a dirty disk or some demo game freezing :S
I know that the circular room in shambala in uncharted 2 filled with the blue people and solider people always makes my game freeze when I walk up the stairs afterwards.(Right before drake finds out that the chintimani stone is actually the tree sap)
(or getting the beeps from pressing the eject button when there's no disk inserted :P

As a result of my suspicion of a bad Power Supply I decided to invest in buying one for $20 on ebay and I just kind of crossed my fingers hoping that it was the solution. I took my ps3 apart, switched out the Power Supply, and wham-o no more yellow light of death. So if anyone has their ps3 get the yellow light of death and then shortly after have complete power failure it's most likely that your power supply is bad. Most importantly both my Xenogears file and disc 2 are no longer stuck in my ps3. I can finally finish the game, hurray :D.
