They probably saw an episode of CSI where they magically fix video and audio files and was like "Dude, my friend can do that for my concert clip!"

 I hate it when someone hands me an SD card full of awful cameraphone pictures and asks me to "make them better like they do on CSI".

Hand them a better camera and tell them to go retake the pictures.

I always love how they use some far fetched technique to extrapolate some impossible evidence and find the EXACT piece of evidence they need to solve a crime. Especially since they are supposed to be some gritty, true crime drama. First off, even with the sophistication of today's computers, you CANNOT change the camera angle of the image. Its static. I hate that crap. "Move the camera 90 degrees back against the Y axis so we can look behind the guy and see who his killer is..." Yeah... Right...

Plus the "evidence" is always something retarded. "That reflection from the image enhancement shows a man wearing a black shirt...Our killer must really like to wear dark clothing! The suspect's brother loves heavy metal...Now we have our motive. BRING HIM IN!"

They zoom so much in that red dwarf video, I know non-digital pictures are really clear when you scan them, but I doubt they're that clear. Funny though. I didn't bother to watch the CSI thing because flashplayer sucks on this computer and I'm too lazy to click the watch on youtube button to see if there's and html5 version.

edit: woops, forgot to post my most recent geek moment. So last night, after the school dance, I went to Friendly's with my friends. Afterwards, when one of my friend's dad came to pick him up, he gave me my birthday present. A USB Rocket Launcher.

Since whipping up a GUI interface in Visual Basic can track the killer's IP address.

I think I should get an award for nerdiest injury. I cut my finger on a hard drive today.

No no, purple hearts are given to people wounded by enemies, hard drives are our friends...

But as with all domestic disputes, was it an accident or an "accident"?

Fight MS Paint abominations! If you don't have a camera, go here, and pick something 3 megapixels or higher.

I had a nerdy moment!
Friday my teacher's jump drive broke. I immediately sprung into action. I opened it up, I found three broken solder joints. I went to the technology classroom, found a 12w weller soldering iron and fixed it. All in about ten minutes. It was awesome.
