I'm pretty sure I read that the ipad uses a different card type, or none at all, although I may be wrong. And if was left to guessing, I wouldn't expect apple to be stupid enough as to do that and sacrifice money

The iPad uses these weird little half-size SIM cards.

The SIMS card is different. It has something to do with the frequencies I believe

Yeah, looked it up, it uses a microSIM.
