Random Emulation Question: Is it possible to emulate N64DD?

Post by J.D » Fri Jan 22, 2010 12:08 am

Man, I've always wanted to try the F-Zero X EXpansion kit, but unfortunately I don't have a spare $2000. Is there a way I can emulate it?

Yes, it's possible to emulate, given you have a complete dump and time and skill to implement the 64dd disk library in an open-source emulator. There is one dump out there but it's missing half the required data, plus no emulator has functioning 64dd support. I know one who's working on it but don't hold your breath.

All I know about this topic is reading about some N64 emulator dev wanting to implement N64DD support years ago, getting some N64DD equiptment donated to him, then vanishing from the internet forever.
