Lend me your browsers, and test out this page plox

Post by khaag » Thu Jan 21, 2010 2:29 am

Hey guys, could you test this site in all of your available browsers and let me know if it works? It should look like this:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/2066/s ... 1at122.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And the Twitter bird should take you to my Twitter page. I just want to make sure it works in all the browsers currently available. Also, while your at it, tell me what you think!

Works in google chrome.
A truly wise man can entertain a thought without accepting it. A fool cannot withhold past judgments but instead closes his mine to new possibilities. Someone who wants to innovate simply needs to forget what everyone says isn't possible.

And I like the site a lot!

Chrome & Safari are both based on webkit. Not really surprising. I'm gonna test opera as well;

yup - works fine in opera

It puts the "Under construction" under the twitter part on a 13" Macbook. Hmm...

It's a resolution thing. it's fixed to a certain point, and if your resolution is too small, that point is quite low.

Works:
  • WebKit
  • Opera 10.10
  • iCab
Fine, but there's a blue box around the Twitter image:
  • Firefox 3.5
  • Internet Explorer 7, 8
  • Internet Explorer 5.5, 6 (but they have no .PNG transparency)
Unusable, jumbled mess:
  • Netscape Navigator 4.8
  • Internet Explorer 4
  • Text mode browsers
If you have less than 1000 pixels of vertical space, the "Hello" box starts humping the Twitter image. I think it should be moved up quite a bit.

1280 x 800 is probably why :wink:

It's even worse on a 1024x600 netbook. :lol: I do think it should be lower-resolution friendly. I browse at either 1920x1080 on my desktop or 1024x600 on my netbook, and it's amazing how the lower resolution mangles some sites.

Yep. Support for lower resolution monitors is a must. Most computers world wide still use under 1024x768. My site works for 800wide resolutions.

Blue outline for twitter image in FF 3.6.

EDIT: use this css fix:

Code: Select all

a img
{
   border: none;
}
Maybe consider adding a reset to avoid problems like that.

Alright, tried to address some of the issues like blue border in FF and the overlapping small-resolution problems. Anyone care to try again? Thanks heaps, BTW.
