I've known about it since last night. She was only 12 years old
It's going to be a rough week my family (mainly my mom's side).

sorry man. Try to do something to take your mind off it for a while. Like COD7. I dont mean it in a jackass way, it just helps me when stuff happens.

Sorry bout that man. I'm not a very religious person, but if I was I'd pray for you. I hope everything else goes well. Have a good one.

I am related to two people who have died on ATV's in the United States (both were under 10). I'm pretty sure it is against the law to drive them without a license here in Canada. With the growing amounts of injury and death related to ATV accidents, you would think they would do something similar in the US.J.D wrote:Fuuuucking ATVs.
Regardless, my heart goes out to you and your family. I have been there before.

I know we have local ordinances for ATV driving-- minium age is 16 here. Dunno how high up those ordinances go tho.

I'm sorry for your loss. A death is always horrible, but while doing something that is supposed to be fun makes it even worse. I'm curious, was she wearing a helmet? They don't always prevent injury, so it might not have mattered either way.
Now, to those demonizing ATVs: not every wreck is the ATV's fault, and not every wreck is the driver's fault. Bad things even happen to the best of riders. Also, in Utah, a drivers license is required to drive an ATV on public roads/land, but persons as young as 8 (too young in my opinion) may complete a course to get an ATV license (includes a multiple choice test and riding instruction/test). On private land, anyone can drive. Helmets are also required for everyone under 18 while riding on public land. ATVs are just like any other vehicle, there is always a certain amount of risk.

There are conflicting reports from various local news networks she was and wasn't. But I think she was though.vskid wrote: I'm sorry for your loss. I'm very sorry for you and your families loss. Having lost my father who was my best friend earlier this year I can sympathize what they are going through.
I have a friend in Florida who's youngest son (14) was riding a 4 wheeler in the middle of a gated community on the main street. He swerved for some reason and lost control and hit someones porch. Ruptured kidneys, punctured lungs, and a coma for a couple of weeks. Now he has brain damage and can barely walk or talk and can't take care of himself.
I personally will never let my boys on them. Yes there are dangers in just driving in a car, walking across the street , etc. But I could not live with myself if they got hurt from riding an Atv or motorcycle that are known to be very dangerous and absolutely not necessary to enjoy life and have fun.
Once again sorry for your loss.
