3 Million!

Post by benheck » Wed Nov 04, 2009 12:27 pm

Was just looking at stats and Benheck.com is within striking distance (my favorite Bruce Willis movie) of 3 million visitors this year!

So keep the interesting Forum topics going, keep putting your stuff in the Showcase, and keep on keepin' on!

(Note: We STILL need something to use up the rest of the server power with)

Just curious, is that unique visitors, pages viewed, number of hits?

Any of those numbers would be nice, but if 3 million unique visitors, then that is astounding.

If this is literally true, why not let people upload their avatars to the server? You can have both uploading and off-site linking enabled of course.

I think we could use a lot more of the server before it got bogged down. I think it's only at like 25% capacity. It just seems like a waste.

Maybe we should get the Wiki fired back up?

And yes, it was 3 million visitors. Hits across the entire site was something like 160 million.

What does the host let you do with it?

It would be great if they let you run Ventrilo. (Basically it's a free VoIP chat system with multiple channels.)

Is there any type of voice chat available?

Offer your movies for download. Even if you only used the server to seed a torrent that would be cool, I want a DVD version of Possemus Man.

Vent would be cool.

The wiki?! I'd like to see that zombie be resurrected. Lets just try and keep it from rotting again, please.

There are tones of things you can do with the kind of bandwidth there is, but how to safely and responsibly use it is the big question. Cause some things we could do that would waste it and do little if anything, and then there are projects that would benefit the community eminently.

 I read through Bic's post too fast. I thought he meant it as they already tried, but couldn't.
