My boss gave me hundreds of discs, which consists of psone, ps2, ps3, xbox, xbox360, gamecube, wii, dvds, and music cds. Any suggestions? I thought about making an extra shell for my ps3.

Re: what to do with defective discs?
How defective are they?
Try a fine car polishing compound (not "rubbing compound") to get fine to medium scratches out. You can even wax the ones that are really messed up. (Hell, I've even used Pledge to get one last read out of a disc, but in a CD-ROM drive I didn't care about getting furniture polish inside. You can do this with the DVDs if you know how to rip them.)

Trust me, the store I work at uses azuoradisc machine that grinds down the plastic and buffers it to a shine. Ihave been their for about 3 years. And these disc can't be saved...lol I guess i will go into the coaster business because i have so many.
Re: what to do with defective discs?
Sell them on ebay. Just be sure to say they are sold as-is and are severely scratched.

I have to see how this goes, I put 20 randomly chosen discs on ebay just a moment ago. I will keep you updated on this but I will doubt anyone will buy.Zero_D wrote:Sell them on ebay. Just be sure to say they are sold as-is and are severely scratched.

Re: what to do with defective discs?
Am I the only one who thinks that is very unethical?
Yea you are putting "As-is", "defective" or whatever. But you know for a fact that any buyer is assuming he can buff them or somehow get some of them to work. And you know there is no possible way anyone can get them to work.
I mean really, be the bigger person here. How would you feel if you were buying something like this hoping to get something out of it and then you find out there was no chance of getting anything working out of it?
Do unto others and all that , you know.

Not really. He's not selling them as "XBOX 360 WITH 500+++ GAMES!!!!11!!eleventy!" on eBay.
Sell them as "Look like the coolest kid on the block with your 500 (non-working) game collection!" props.
How about some pictures of the carnage?

They make great frisbees if you spin them real good on the throw. Straight like a corkscrew.
Hey, sup?
Re: what to do with defective discs?
Trade em into Gamestop. They'll buy them, but take off a refurbishing fee. Just don't trade in multiple copies of the same game at once.

Re: what to do with defective discs?
I wasnt just referring to you, but to people in general. lots of ebay and craigslist "sellers" and buyers nowadays are more interested in ripping other people off than actually selling legitimate goods, and similar things have happened on this forum recently.J.D wrote:LERN 2 JOKE COMRADE TRITON, IN OUR GLORIOUS BENHECKIAN HOMELAND!Triton wrote:+1. seems to me that fraud/scamming is the cool new thing these days, i miss honesty in transactions
also, editing your post to add doesnt really convince me that it was a joke at all.Last edited by J.D on Tue Oct 27, 2009 9:17 am, edited 1 time in total.
