Cutting Project Boxes?

Post by ShaolinDrunkard » Sat Apr 30, 2005 9:01 pm

Hey guys,I just got my project box and i was wondering, how do some of you guys cut the opening for your screen and other things so smootly. My project box is made of fairly hard plastic. My friend told me to heat up a knife and cut into the plastic but the knife losses its heat too quikly and gets stuck in the plastic. Any other ideas.

Thanks

Exacto knife?, how old are you?, do you go to school with a tech class? cause if you do ask your tech teacher, they will help you.

First off, I'm 22 and second an exacto won't work beacause the plastic is too hard. Thanks for the dremel tip, I have one I'll try that.

I drill holes, and use a file to make a square.

I just concetrate really hard and a perfect square just appears...

dremels are great, so is the drill and file method... but by far the easiest way is to have someone else do it...

Ehh, its big but its not that big. I don't think there's enough there for a whole forum (although it'd probably still beat of the Dreamcast forum, I think I saw cobwebs last I was there).

i think it'd be a good idea to put up a case forum.

we already have a screen forum, why not a case forum.

that way we wouldnt have to stare at all these ugly portables all day.
after years of reading, i finally decided to register.

OK, I've got a tiny Case Making forum in my tiny freephp forum. (It's not so small when in scale!)

yeh but perhaps with the general info stickied and people with case problems could post there ot would probubley be more popular than the screen hacking it would help people get into on that topic much faster

we dont realy have any detailed information easlly assesable on the topic hell I could use more information on it most of us could

I'd like to see your best portable case. It's usually the hardest part of the portable project. Unless you're Ben or All4Sky you're not in a postion to critisize anyone's projects.
