Who's seeing it?

For sure. Peter Jackson FTW

To me, it looks like it's a good idea, but when it comes down to it, the movie is going to suck asscrackers. It will still be a decent action movie, but the plot will be garbage beyond the first "Aliens came to earth, and we want their weapons, but they're peaceful, so we imprisoned them"

Movies these days are all the same. I've only seen the trailer, and I can tell you how it will end.

The aliens are held in this concentration camp until they give the dudes their weapons. A reporter or some junk goes in, finds out what's happening, and after the aliens get fed up and ambush the party, the reporter sides with the aliens as they become not-so-peaceful and escape earth with the help of the reporter. First, after escaping District 9, they have to contact home (or they have to disable some communications-blocker) and get some help from their alien buddies. They escape, leaving the bad human guys either stripped of their titles, dead, or being attacked my a mob of humans/aliens.

They're going to turn it in to a political commentary more than a good movie. The focus will be on a POW type scenario, and they'll just use aliens in the place of America's political prisoners.

$50 says I'm right.

I think it will be more epic than people think.

Kurt is 100% rotten.

all you've seen is the trailer and that's what you're basing your judgement off of? from the reviews I've read, even from the yahoo! description of it, you're wrong. and then you place a bet off of mostly opinion. well done.

Sometimes you can judge a movie on it's trailer, like Dragon Ball: Evoultion. It ruined everything my favorite childhood anime!

I'm usually pretty right when I judge movies by their trailers. Before you start bashing me, go see the movie.

Yes, but at the same time, no.

While it would make sense pretty much no matter how you look at it, you're forgetting the fact that me seeing it = giving them money. Stop giving bad movies money, and bad movies will stop being poured out by the truckloads.
