masochistic cd-i inquiry

Post by Rototiller » Tue Aug 04, 2009 2:28 pm

I went on a yardsale safari last weekend in vermont, got cool stuff, except for two things; mario hotel and wand of gamelon for (what else) cd-i. now, my friend is frothing at the mouth to play it so he can reproduce the whole game in a hl2 mod. personally, i think that's kewl, but we have a problem: no game system. now, according to his logic, if you can play ps2 games on an emulator on a pc, you should be able to do the same for a cd-i game. i popped it into my computers cd bay ( yes i know bad idea, i'll exorcise it later), and as i expected, no material recognized or noticed whatsoever on the disc. not even a little window saying i popped a disc in the drive. is it possible to play or rip the rom from the cd using an emu or, actually, anything?
what sig? i don't see anything...

There are a few CD-i emulators out there:
http://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pws ... i+emulator" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However, like the PSX and PS2 emulators, it needs a BIOS for that console to work properly. They're out there, but aren't legally redistributable.

Make sure you screen-record nice big, clear versions of the cutscenes for all the YTP-ers out there!

Of course Windows didn't show anything on the disc; it's not a file format it understands. :lol:

oh, thanks. will do. just off the top of my head, doesn't it seem like super mario civil engineer seem like a potentially better game than mario hotel?

BTW I CAN'T WAIT TO BOMB DONGDONGOS
