@Ben: Actually. I think Pizza Hut's changing their name because now they're selling more than just pizza, and they probably want to eliminate any confusion :D

@Palmer: Technically, his name's Shaq. With a q :lol:
Why is it that every time I post in a thread, it dies?

I didn't see anywhere that this name change will include the loss of the electronic parts section...

I talked to a guy at the store.

Also, they are very clear they are "Shifting focus to move forward along with our customers". Somehow, I doubt that included electronics parts. At the one I live near, they have one soldering iron left. They used to have 2. 6 months ago, before I bought one there. :facepalm: No 7805s, either, and they have not restocked in months.

They will order parts for you, you know. Just tell them what you want/the SKU number, and they'll get it.

That they may, but then what point would it serve to have a physical store? You might as well just order off of the interwebs and save yourself a trip.

Radio Shack's parts are usually crap, I just pay a little extra so I can have them without waiting for shipping. Why am I going to pay extra for crap parts that I have to wait a few days for, and then I have to pick them up as well?

this is fvckingbullsh!t!

This completely destroys modding for me. I hate to buy online because most stores arwe from china. I hate buying from china. That leaves me with radioshack. Oh wait. RADIOSHACK IS COMPLETELY TURNING OVER TO RETARD CELLPHONE SHACK! I may not be able to get parts from anywhere but thrown out vcrs, but they rarely have parts I need. If this truly goes down, I am done with modding. I'll stick to fixing broken junk for buddies.

Dude, see my list of online suppliers. They aren't all in China. Radioshack parts are crap anyways.

:facepalm: I always bought my parts from "the shack" v. online because I wanted to support my local businesses, but now I am sad. I suppose that I'll have more money now that I'll be paying 5¢/ resistor instead of 20! :lol:

I usually order from Digikey, instead of China.
