Little questions from around the world.

Post by Kurt_ » Sat Jul 18, 2009 2:26 pm

Well, as you all know (mainly because it says so in every post I make) I am Canadian. Citrus trees do not grow here. The other day, I was wondering: What does an unripe lemon taste like? How can you tell when a lime is ripe?

I'm sure I'm not the only one with little questions like this, so ask away! (How far down do pine trees grow?)
Hey, sup?

Unready citrus fruits are very sour, hard, and sometimes dry - very nasty.

Question for you: have you ever punctured/popped a milk bag?

Ah. I've only seen cartons around here, but I heard that some places have bags as of late. I'd like to try them out.

Bags of milk can be a pain. At my work, we have 5 gallon bags of milk. They are quite obnoxious to deal with, mainly just due to the fact that there's no place to hold the damn things easily.

Well I do work in at an ice cream place... (and 5 gallons is ~18.9 liters, according to google).

You had to google that? As an American I'd figured you had known the conversion by now. Quart = Quarter Gallon = 1 Litre. 1 Gallon = 4 Litres. Real easy, and pretty damn accurate too. Google says 1 Gallon is 3.785 Litres.

You've never seen half gallons or quarts or pints?

They make BAGS of milk?!?

I've never heard of bags of milk before I read this thread. The only thing I've seen over here are gallons of milk and half gallons. I've seen cartons around here too, but only for Soy milk and "Organic" milk (and those small mini-cartons they give out with school lunch).

The very act of defining nothing makes it something. Reminds me of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

Bags of milk suck D: Especially when a certain someone in my family decideds it'll be fun to cut a massive hole...

Also, I don't think bags of milk are everywhere in Canada. I live in Ontario, and we have it here, but when I used to live in BC I don't recall ever having "bagged milk".

They're in enough places for us Canadians to be known for bagged milk. We have it in both here in Nova Scotia, I prefer the bagged milk. It has a better milk:container ratio.
