as some of you in boy scouts might know

, NOAC also stands for
National
Order of the
Arrow
Conference. it is being held at Indiana university this august. i have read in other topics that some of you are scouts, and was wondering if any one is going, and if so, what lodge are you in?
( I'm in Unali'Yi lodge 236 from Charleston S.C.)

This is why I wish I hadn't quit scouts. I rejioned recently, but I am still a tenderfoot. It sucks I know. Now I have to work like crazy to gain ranks and get in the order of the arrow.
rest in peace, Ronnie James Dio! \m/

Ajapeu 351, but I don't know how large a region we cover. I have had my brotherhood membership for a year and a half now. But I did not get my Eagle though.

Applying for college got in the way. But now I'm an assistant scoutmaster!

Ahhh. I got a letter about this (Eagle Scout in OA). I never got interested in the OA.

I'm an Eagle scout/OA Brotherhood member/Assistant Scoutmaster.
I cut it close (like 16 hours-close) to turning 18 before getting in my application. Fortunately, I was born in summer, so I was 18 at the end of my junior year, not senior year (or I'd have probably run into the same issue).

I wish I could go
But as with everything, money is a issue.
Edit: I'm part of White Horse Lodge 201 and I have Brotherhood.
Who knows if the Namco Portable will ever become a reality?

all i have to do to become a star is make a first aid kit for first aid. (duh.) but i keep putting it off. i got my brotherhood in the spring. and if you don"t already, you should start patch trading. it"s so much fun, and NOAC is
great for it.
by the way, limpport, whats your lodges mascot? ares is a white tailed dear.

I was in the boy scouts when I was a kid, all we really did was play nintendo and sell that crappy candy (the caramel one was awesome though)
I'm not much of a fan of the outdoors so I quit before all the "cool" things happened, camping etc.

No offense to OA members, but it didn't seem like it was worth the effort. Seemed more like an excuse to dress like Indians and wear costumes, both of which I can do without.
When a couple friends and I were considering it, we snuck into a OA induction ceremony during summer camp. Seemed a lot like Harry Potter crossed with Daniel Boone. The magic/vooodoo stuff was a big turn-off. And all that for a silly badge.
I know one of the rules of being in OA is to not tell details to non-OA scouts. But once we found this stuff out we had no desire to do it.

But you can't peek! That ruins the fun
But I have to say, walking into a supermarket at 10 at night in full costume is a lot of fun.

Man I gotta say all the fun in the world is in dressing up and bein all secretive. I was never in scouts so it was always weird as heck to go over to my frends and see her dad and bros come home with all their OA getup. Theyd be all laughing and goin like Remember when JD did-NO! Cant tell that! OA secrets! But man! Tell them about going-NO!!!! Shut up!
So me and her and some other guys and gals kinda did our own secret club. Bones all dressed up like a wizard. Cheeze liek a jester and Ro all like a night in armor. Me all Robin Hood with a plunger bow an arrow. It was awesome. We did all kindsa crazy stunts like that.
copulate all you goddamn smartasses.
