GB & GBC on the DS...

Post by Lucretius » Sun Apr 24, 2005 3:48 pm

Didn't think it would be so simple. Check the second journal entry...

Also...
io_burn wrote:OPTIONAL: While you've got the DS open, how would you like to increase the range of the wireless multiplay abilities? Simply solder a wire from the antenna port to the nearby anchor solder for the DS cartidge slot. Your DS will then use both the internal antenna as well as all of the internal grounded shielding inside of the DS to send and receive multiplay signals! This effectively DOUBLED the range of my DS's wireless.
Yummy!

Enjoy, my friends...

Fake.

The GB and GBC require Z80 processors. The GBA has an ARM 7 and Z80, meaning it can play GB and GBC games.

The DS has an ARM7 and ARM9. The ARM7 is used for the bottom and top gets the ARM9. But regardless GBA games can play on either screen, they are both ARM. But the DS doesn't have a Z80.

All soldering inside your DS will do is short-circuit it. Not sure about the Wi-Fi expander, though that may just ruin the Wi-Fi. Plus, you can't go crying to Nintendo. Your waranty was voided.

Don't try it. Trust me. If anything wait for a 3rd party GBA adapter that has that emulates the Z80 processor. One will be out sooner or later.

EDIT- If anyone is wondering how he got the "screenshot" on his DS, it's simple. GBAflash cart with PKMN blue on it. Took it out. Cut up cart a bit and put it in. Because GB carts can't even fit in the slot.

Oh and don't trust me?
Check it out

Just wait for emulators, I'm sure they'll be out, and I'm sure someone will make one for GB(C).

I think this has been posted before. It's pretty fake. If you look closely you'll see that one of the wires connects 2 points that are already connected :P

Kinda silly... Like the one where all you had to do was draw a hapy face with sharpie marker on the processor and it would disable the startup seizure message. Or the one where all you had to do to increase your wi-fi reception was to shove a paper clip through the case.  I'm not mocking anyone. I heard these in the hallways at school. :)

Looks like wireless mod would work, but I think those pins are already connected! Stupid guy with a waist of time.

Why would the wireless mod work? Your grounding a signal, which would cut the wireless range to 0!
