Usially for birthdays and such, I'd get 30-40 dollars total from my relitives. I was very surprised to find as much as I did in my graduation cards, and I can't decide how to spend it.
I've got $350, and looking at:
Macbook clear case - $50
4GB RAM for Macbook - $50
16GB iPod Touch - $300
160GB Archos 605 wifi - about $200
PS2 with games - $100 to $150
Anything else that you folks would suggest?

It's not fun or exciting, but save it. If you can't, save half of it. Put $200 of it away and have fun with the $150 - you were expecting $50 anyway, and that is three times that much.
Being responsible isn't necessarily fun, but it is certainly better in the long run.

Good idea tbh, i'd definitely go with 4GB of RAM for a Macbook for $50 though.

Definitely get the RAM. More RAM is always good.
I agree, sock away $200 and play with $150. You'll thank yourself later.

Depends... are your parents paying for your college and stuff (or do you plan to not go)? If so, then play around with a bit of it.
If you know you'll be paying your own way to school, though, then definitely try to tighten the belt with it. Money's pretty hard to come by once you're on your own.

The RAM was top o' my list. I've always wanted a PS2, and it'll be cheap enough. There's $150 right there.bicostp wrote:Definitely get the RAM. More RAM is always good.

$200 into a CD perhaps?
I am going. My parents are paying for some, but I want to pay for most of it. Including loans and room/board, I'd be paying about $6500 for the year. So I'm not too worried about next year. I have a job that I earned almost that much working only 15 hours a week.Zeturi wrote:Depends... are your parents paying for your college and stuff (or do you plan to not go)? Yeah I would save most of it. You dont have to spend it all now. TBH it looks like its burning a hole in your pocket.

Please don't get a PS2. Get a Dreamcast or an Xbox, but you would probably want to get the Xbox because it's more recent, but the Dreamcast is my all time favorite.

@Twilight Wolf - I don't know. I never really liked the PS2, and it always gave me headaches for some reason. I personally think the Cube and the Xbox have better games, but that's just me.

Re: What to buy with graduation monies.....
I already have a Gamecube, and I never really got hooked on Xbox. As corny as it sounds, the PS2 has a special place in my heart. It is part of some of my best childhood memories. Whenever I'd spend the night at my friends house, we'd stay up almost all night playing Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, and Grand Turismo.J.D wrote:@Twilight Wolf - I don't know. Oh, and I have RAM and a PS2+games on the way. My parents brought home a nice computer bag, and that will suit me very well. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
